In an excellent effort of regionalism, the Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin chapters of the American Planning Association (APA) hold the Upper Midwest APA Conference on an annual basis. Typically, this conference rotates around the three states involved to give each a chance to host. However, this year it is being held virtually.

This year’s Upper Midwest APA Planning Conference will offer 30 sessions over a three-day span. Many of the sessions are timely, covering the impacts of COVID-19, racial equity and social justice, land use, law, ethics, and much more. This year’s keynotes include:

  • Dr. Kirk Harris, School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UW-Milwaukee
  • Jim Kumon, Executive Director at the Incremental Development Alliance

At $100 for registration, it is a very affordable way to take in some planning-related training during National Planning Month.

Registration is through the National-APA registration page.
